The story of International Gas Detectors began in 1917, when Henry Ringrose invented the flammable gas detector and incorporated the world’s first gas detection company. More than 100 years on, our goal remains the same: keeping you safe by constantly raising the standard. From our very first gas detector to today’s groundbreaking Sentinel+™ addressable system, over a century of expertise and innovation has kept us at the forefront of an industry that began right here at IGD.
Today, we deliver more than 1,000 systems every year from our Stockport home, working closely with a trusted global network of partners to protect people and property across a huge range of industries. Alongside our own fixed systems, we also supply a comprehensive range of portable gas detectors through long-standing partnerships with GDI, Senko and mPower. Our extensive range of sensors is the result of more than a century of research and development, providing our systems with unparalleled accuracy, unrivalled performance, and unbeatable operational lifetimes.
The work we do is underpinned by more than a century of experience in the design, development and manufacture of gas detection technology. From installation and commissioning to ongoing support through our Aftercare+ service and free training courses via the IGD Academy, we help our customers stay confident, compliant and protected long after we’ve left site.
