Remote HMI

Some sites may have a large quantity of gas detection systems spread over a few floors or plant room areas.  In this case you may still want a central focal point but have individual controllers local to specific areas. A further consideration is data capture. Controllers from IGD can have Modbus interfaces allowing access to channel information and alarms to third party systems. In many cases BMS systems may only want alarm information and are not interested in day to day trending. Control panels do not directly data log channel information. Controllers are designed for their primary function to meet the requirements of IEC 60079-29-1 as a gas alarm system.

HMI modules from IGD are designed to meet these requirements. Equipped with 15” colour touch screens they can connect to up to 32 IGD gas detection controllers. A dashboard provides an overview of all connected systems grouping detector channels logically to suit the site either by connected controller or area.

The HMI’s have hard drive storage and are designed for trending, gas detection controllers are not. HMI’s are therefore ideal where you need to either or: network to a number of gas detection controllers for overall system display; trend the data.

The systems store data files every 24 hours and these can be retrieved and viewed on screen. The HMI’s also have the capability to provide the same data via its own Modbus port. In this manner host systems can still connect for data access.

This same data view is available via our cloud platform. this enables you to remotely view a systems status from any internet connected device.
